Memolane began as an idea pitched by Eric Lagier at Startup Weekend Copenhagen in April 2010. Eric and co-founders Nikolaj Hald Nielsen and Harry Vangberg were part of the team that built the first Memolane prototype, which went on to win the event.
Following the initial Startup Weekend success, Eric left his job to pursue Memolane full-time. The Memolane.com service went live and available for users by invitation in April 2010.
